Looking Up in the Corn Patch

The corn is getting tall.

Which means that a good portion of my corn patch time is spent looking up.

Here’s what I’ve been seeing while looking up.

Green corn and blue sky.

Then there are the tassels, silhouetted against the sky.

The leaves make strong shapes.

Arcs, swoops, and waves.

Corn.

Giant grass!

Where did it come from?

Corn is the brainchild of humans.

Hecho en Mexico, thousands of years ago.

Now corn is grown planet-wide.

From teosinte to maize.

What a story.

Corn.
