The Order of the Garter at Wishetwurra Farm

Yesterday and the day before brought us a nice drenching 1.32″ rain. In the afternoon things cleared, and I went to check the new garden, where the tomatoes are being grown this year.

There was a garter snake, warming up and relaxing on a board.

There are usually a couple of garter snakes around the place.

It’s always nice to see them.

Their scales are wonderful to see.

The snake was wary, but not spooked, and stood its ground.

It takes some doing to stand your ground when you don’t have a leg to stand on.
