At bedtime, Coquina will come and make sure we’re settled. But almost invariably, once she’s confident that all is well with us, she’ll abruptly get up, jump off the bed, and we hear her walk out to the living room. Coquina likes to keep watch at night from a perch on top of a sofa, where she can have a view of the yard. She lets us know if anything moves out there.
Towards morning, she’ll often come back and ask to be helped up onto to bed, where she will catch up on her sleep after the night’s guard duty.
A few mornings ago, we’d gotten up, but she was still slugabed. So we tucked her in.
She camouflages well.
