Playa Ventanas Caves Revisited, Costa Rica 2016, #19

At Playa Ventanas, there are holes and caves in the rock. Some extend hundreds of feet, from ocean to beach. We’d come a few weeks before, but the tide had been too high for safe entry. This time, the tide was low enough.

We met a crab we’d not met before…

And looked over to where the caves open to the beach.

Come see…

Warmth, humidity,

Sound of surf, of splashing and dripping, echoing in the cave.

Other times we have made a the trip from ocean, through cave, to the beach.

This day the tide was still a little too high.

Too high to go with a camera…

What a wonderful, magical place.
