We’ve had a few days of wonderfully warm weather. Yesterday temperatures approached sixty, and at sunset it was fifty-six.
At dawn it was still fifty-six, when I went outside to clean the debris-filled gutters on the old horse barn. The job requires barehanded scooping out of the accumulated guck. We won’t have to many more warm days, so it was time.
Dawn was lines of pink and blue glorious strips of clouds. Low-angle reddish light suffused the air. If I hadn’t gone out to clean the gutter I’d have missed the Kelvin-Helmholtz event.
But I did, and was crossing the yard in the right spot at the right time to see the K-H clouds.
Take a closer look.
