The Palm Post Pile

From below, a leaf’s sharp serrations silhouette against sky.

There’s a young palm tree at the edge of the road.

Its leaves, pleated and serrated, rustle in breezes.

The palm is worth approaching.

We see greens from translucent emerald to fern to pine.

Greens, from dark forest to almost midnight.

All is green.

The leaves are full of geometry.

We look at lines, angles, and radii.

The stem (petiole) that supports the leaf is solid.

Try to break a palm stem with your hands!

Economy and strength characterize stem of palm.

A palm leaf is a mighty big world.

For an ant.
