Abstracts from a Rainy Day

Rain last night.

Rain this morning.

Rain until midday.

Stop for a coffee.

Find yourself looking at the coffee roaster.

At The Pie in the Sky, Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

And then at the legs that support the island where lids, milk and cream, napkins, and other “necessities” are provided.

Made of oak, these….

The close looking in the coffee shop, followed by two hours of close looking while drawing a preliminary sketch for an Io moth drawing, kept my eyes “tuned” all day. So when I went to the library, I saw the crosswalk.

Art is where you find it.

I’ve always been fond of cracks in paint.

Arrangement in a parking lot.

And a reflective self-portrait.

Snow is in the forecast for tomorrow night.
