The Christmas Tree Waits

Good Evening Mr. Tannenbaum.

I’m here to appreciate and admire you, on this Christmas Eve.

You’re standing by the window that faces the road outside, so passers-by can enjoy you, too.

An old ornament, just hanging together, hangs on a twig.

Grandma Mary’s silver star gleams magnificently, shines splendidly.

Green light, red and blue reflections.

Crumpled kraft paper conceals the handle of MJ’s gift.

What is it????

It’s someone’s gift envelope, nestled on a branch, transformed by light.

Plain white paper to turned into magical mystery.

Before long, the dark of this night will be over.

The light of Christmas Day will be here.
